The 2026 Fall Court of the Virginia Society will be held on Thursday, October 15th, at the Commonwealth Club. Prepare to enjoy great fellowship and an incredible meal, prepared by Chef Kaui.

Our featured speaker will be Willie Balderson. Balderson is an acclaimed public historian, historical interpreter, and educator widely recognized for his decades-long work in pioneering first-person living history program development. A native of Virginia’s Northern Neck, Balderson has spent more than 40 years bringing early American history to life for millions of museum visitors, students, and educators. He served as Manager of Public History Development for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and is currently Director of Living History and Historic Trades for the Historic Jamestown Foundation, where he oversaw public programming across the historic 22.5-acre site on Jamestown Island.

Balderson is well known for his historical character interpretations, including a Richmond gentleman of the 1840s, a War of 1812 army officer, a Welsh crewman of the USS Monitor and an eighteenth-century member of the House of Burgesses.  At the 2026 Fall Court, Willie will regale members of the Society of Colonial Wars in Virginia with tales of our earliest history, as he brings Captain John Smith to life.

Cost per person is $150.  Warriors and gentlemen guests are welcome.  Black Tie/White Tie optional with Decorations.

RSVP by October 10, 2026.  Please note, due to issues with mail delivery, we highly encourage online registration.  Mailed registrations received after the deadline cannot be accepted.
